During the Galaxies Showcase, Easy Trigger Games (based in Trollhättan, Sweden) and Coffee Stain Publishing (also from Sweden) announced the Early Access release date for Huntdown: Overtime. This roguelite prequel to the action shooter game Huntdown (2020) will be released on 7 May 2026.

Huntdown: Overtime combines 16-bit pixel art with 'exaggerated brutality' and a dark, humorous tone inspired by classic '80s action movies. This time, however, the run-and-gun combat is enhanced by a roguelite progression system, where every death makes the player stronger. Coffee Stain Publishing: "Hunt through gang territories, wastelands, and prison islands, collecting bounties and unlocking permanent cybernetic upgrades. Each run transforms Sawyer from flesh to chrome. Players will strip away the weakness bone by bone, embrace the machine, and become the legendary bounty hunter of the future."

The Early Access stage will enable players to experience the core gameplay loop and provide feedback on balance, progression systems, and content updates. Easy Trigger Games: "The core systems of the game are at this moment considered 'feature complete' meaning that there are no intentions to drastically change the gameplay. Content such as weapons, character upgrades, and much of the gameplay systems are in a near-final state." In answer to the question, 'How long will this game be in Early Access?', the developers gives an unusually honest answer: "The honest answer is that we do not know, however, it is not going to be in a perpetual state of Early Access."
