devcom has announced the launch of its new scholarship programme aimed at increasing inclusivity and diversity in the video game industry. The initiative aims to support underrepresented and undervalued game developers by working with international organisations.

Devcom's new scholarship programmes are designed to increase inclusivity and diversity in the video games industry by targeting underrepresented and undervalued developers. The initiative offers free passes to the devcom Developer Conference and gamescom, as well as pre-event briefings, on-site networking opportunities and ongoing support. The programme works with international organisations to manage applications, provide financial support and sponsor various activities. Current partners include the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), Global Game Jam and IndieGameBusiness.

By working with international organisations, universities and associations, devcom aims to broaden the reach of the scholarship programmes and support a diverse range of participants. Partner responsibilities include distributing application forms, selecting suitable candidates, and optionally contributing to programme activities and financial support. The first three official partners are already on board and more are being added. Interested organisations can apply to become a partner until 27 June.
