Indie Campus 2025 is set to make its debut at HBK Essen on 29 and 30 November 2025. This event will bring together international speakers, indie studios, students, and young talent, while also aiming to promote the Ruhr region as a games location.
Essen University of Fine Arts (Hochschule der bildenden Künste, HBK Essen) and Indie Hub invite audiences to Indie Campus 2025, taking place on 29 and 30 November 2025 at Trudi, the creative campus in Essen City Nord. For two days, the focus will be on knowledge, practice and networking in the games and creative industries. During this time, international experts will share their insights on topics such as game design, narrative, audio, publishing, funding and law in talks, panels and workshops (Tickets).
"The games industry needs new, young faces who can contribute their ideas and try new things. That's why we're creating an event that brings these young people together and gives them the chance to meet experts and expand their professional network," emphasises Stefan Schmidt, Co-founder and Managing Director of Indie Hub.
Indie Campus brings together independent game studios, industry professionals, students and young talent, and aims to highlight the connection between education, science and business in the games and creative industries. At its new location in Essen's Nordstadt district, the HBK Essen is connecting the industry with the regional economy. Patrick Schnorbus, programme coordinator for the Game Art and Design (Bachelor of Arts) course, adds: "Our students gain valuable insights into their future working environment, and we as a university are making a statement with our new location in Essen's Nordstadt district: the Ruhr region can do games!"
