Minakata Dynamics' second game, Whiskerwood, is a cat-and-mouse city builder. It is set to be released on 6 November 2025 via Early Access by publisher Hooded Horse.

Hooded Horse and Minakata Dynamics have announced that their cat-and-mouse city builder, Whiskerwood, will be released on PC via Early Access on 6 November 2025. The game will be available on Steam, GOG.com, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store, as well as on PC Game Pass (Game Preview) from day one.

In Whiskerwood, players must establish a home for industrious mice in the untamed lands of this city-builder game, which features complex simulations and production chains, as well as the age-old rivalry between cats and mice. "Carve mountains, traverse seas, and explore untamed new lands as you build grand cities, establishing elaborate automation systems to efficiently run complex production chains, all while dealing with the ever-increasing demands of the Claws, the cat overlords who reign supreme with their oppressive paws," the publisher says. Anyone wanting a sneak preview of what's to come can download the demo, available today, to experience the opening scenes of the game.

This is the second game by Minakata Dynamics, a small, independent video game developer based in the Tohoku region of Japan, which focuses on creating games with complex systems. The team's previous work includes the train RTS game Railgrade.

Hooded Horse is a publisher of strategic and tactical games. Its portfolio includes Manor Lords, Against the Storm, Endless Legend 2, Old World, Norland, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, and 9 Kings (in collaboration with Instinct3). Hexxen: Hunters from Ulisses Spiele Digital, Drill Keeper from ShoulderByte, Menace from Overhype Studios and Super Fantasy Kingdom from Super Fantasy Games are also set to be released in the coming months - all of these games originate from Germany. Hooded Horse has also taken over the distribution of Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew from Mimimi Games.
