Pokémon Takes Monpoké Brand Extension to Europe and Beyond
The Pokémon Company has announced the further internationalisation of its Monpoké brand extension, aimed at toddlers and babies. The first partner is the French company Bonpoint. Until now, Monpoké products have only been available in Asia.
With this brand extension, The Pokémon Company aims to introduce children to the characters of the Pokémon universe at an even earlier age, or, as the company puts it, to help parents introduce their children to the world of Pokémon. Under Monpoké, partners of The Pokémon Company market products for babies and toddlers. Previously only available in Asia, the brand extension products will now be rolled out in other countries.
This will lead to new partnerships for The Pokémon Company. One new partner for Monpoké, for example, is the French company Bonpoint. Bonpoint is launching a Monpoké fashion collection and a skincare line, with products manufactured in France.
"Pokémon is a beloved brand across generations, cherished by trainers around the world. Many of them grew up with Pokémon and are now sharing their passion with their own children. Expanding Monpoké to other markets will give parents around the world a new way to introduce their children to the world of Pokémon in a fun and cute way," said Heather Dalgleish, Senior Director of Publishing at The Pokémon Company International.
More products and experiences will follow, according to the company.
