Arc Games, an independent U.S.-based publisher of AA and indie video games, regained its independence from Embracer in December 2025 through a management buyout. Today, the company announced several key updates to its leadership team (see our previous report) as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen operational capabilities, expand global partnerships and support long-term growth across the publishing portfolio. We spoke to Yoon Im (Chief Executive Officer), Jason Park (Chief Operating Officer) and Michael Borras (Vice President of Business Development) about these changes. In this interview, we discussed the change in strategy regarding the signing of new games, shifts in the industry, Cryptic Studios' MMO strategy, Arc Games' role as a publishing partner for independent developers, and the current state of the industry.

GamesMarkt: Which genres, platforms or business models are of particular interest to Arc Games? Will you be more selective about deals in future, or does independence offer more flexibility?

Jason Park (COO): "Along with the hiring of our new VP of Business Development, Mike Borras, we hope to be signing more games at a higher velocity, but also likely smaller titles than what we used to. That being said, we need to continue to be as selective in the meanwhile. Being independent is a double-edged sword where now we can make quicker decisions with less approval layers, but also as each game has its risks, the consequences are far more severe without the backing of a larger corporation."

GamesMarkt: Why do you see the greatest growth potential specifically in the AA and indie titles segment in the coming years? What about MMOs?
