IOI Partners' involvement with MindsEye comes to an end. Going forward, Build A Rocket Boy (BARB) will assume sole publishing responsibilities, thereby ensuring continuity for the MindsEye community and all partners. Over the coming weeks, IOI Partners and BARB are working closely together to ensure a seamless transition. IOI Partners is the publishing division of IO Interactive, dedicated to publishing and supporting games developed by third-party studios.
In light of this separation, the Hitman mission, which was announced in June 2025 and was planned as a crossover event within MindsEye, will no longer be released. However, BARB intends to collaborate with partners on future projects. Last month, MindsEye received its biggest update since launch. This update aimed to improve campaign flow, make objectives easier to follow and enhance AI behaviour, among other things. Over the coming months, Build a Rocket Boy will reveal the future of MindsEye by announcing a new expansion that will add end-game content and enhanced world exploration, as well as introducing a multiplayer mode in MindsEye's Arcadia.
MindsEye experienced one of the most disastrous game releases in 2025. The game was plagued by bugs, performance issues, AI glitches and poor mission design. The UK-based studio came under immense pressure as a result, initiating layoffs and repeatedly blaming 'internal and external saboteurs', as well as criminal activity, for the failed launch.
