Die Akzeptanz gegenüber kostenpflichtigen Downloads ist immer noch gering. Zwei Drittel wollen nur dann zahlen, wenn sie das Produkt woanders nicht kostenlos bekommen können.

Kostenpflichtige Inhalte im Internet stoßen nach wie vor auf wenig Gegenliebe. Wie eine Umfrage des Instituts für Wirtschaftspolitik und Wirtschaftsforschung der Universität Karlsruhe ergab, ist nur jeder zehnte Internetnutzer bereit, für digitale Produkte zu zahlen. Zwei Drittel wollen nur dann bezahlen, wenn sie das Gewünschte woanders nicht kostenlos bekommen können. Ein Fünftel der beinahe 10.000 Befragten würden ganz auf das Produkt verzichten, wenn es nicht umsonst zu haben ist. Immerhin knapp die Hälfte der Teilnehmer hat schon einmal digitales Gut online geordert. 73 Prozent davon kauften Software, 36 Prozent Musik und 26 Prozent Kommunikationsdienstleistungen. Die Bereitschaft, für Fachartikel, elektronische Bücher und Nachrichten zu zahlen, ist der Umfrage zufolge momentan noch gering.
