Swedish game developer and work-for-hire studio Toadman Interactive is cutting jobs and closing offices in Stockholm, Visby and Oslo. The Berlin studio will also see "some redundancies". In total, parent company Enad Global 7 will cut around 100 jobs, leaving only a skeleton staff.

Job cuts have also been announced at game development and work-for-hire studio Toadman Interactive. "Like many other game companies, we have gone through a tough period over the last 12 months, and, unfortunately, that means that we are shutting down our offices in Stockholm, Visby, and Oslo, as well as having some redundancies in our Berlin Studio," the company wrote on LinkedIn. Around 25 people work in Berlin, according to the company's website.

The exact number of job cuts is not clear, but they could be significant. A look at the interim report of parent company Enad Global 7 shows that Toadman Interactive employed 111 people at the end of the second quarter of 2024, and the restructuring of the company is expected to affect around 100 full-time jobs. Enad Global 7 said in its report: "With the market slowdown and recalibration that the industry has seen over the past quarters Toadman has struggled to ramp up its work-for-hire business. As a result, management have decided to undertake further business optimization efforts to bring Toadman to immediate profitability. The total annual cost savings for Toadman is approximately SEK 63 million and will impact approximately 100 headcounts previously engage with Toadman. On the product side Toadman released EvilVEvil on July 16, and received a lackluster reception and sales figures came in at the lower end of expectations".

Toadman Interactive describes itself as "a cozy mid-size game development company". It was founded in 2013 and has "offices in Stockholm, Sweden, Berlin, Germany & Novi Sad, Serbia. "We also have people working remotely from other countries in Europe such as Norway & UK," the company said. Toadman Interactive has developed games such as Immortal: Unchained, Westmark Manor and most recently EvilVEvil. The company also offers work-for-hire services and has worked on Warhammer: The End Times - Vermintide, Warhammer Vermintide 2: Chaos Wastes and MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, as well as Helldivers 2 (performance optimisation) and Dead Island 2.
