Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege X
Since its release in 2015, Rainbow Six Siege has become one of Ubisoft's most important games. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the game is receiving a massive update that includes a new, game-changing mode.
Rainbow Six Siege has grown considerably since its release in December 2015. This team-based tactical shooter has attracted over 85 million players and has become one of the three core pillars of the French publisher. Featuring attack vs. defence gameplay and intense close-quarters combat in destructible environments with diverse gadgetry and operators, the game has no reason to hide when it comes to esports. A new era begins on 10 June with the launch of Siege X, introducing Free Access, Dual Front and a lot more.
Dual Front is a new permanent 6v6 game mode for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. In this mode, players must secure three enemy sectors while defending their own on a new map. Players can choose from a curated list of 35 operators for the first time in Siege, combining attackers and defenders to utilise their abilities, weapons, and gadgets. With the ability to respawn and select a new operator to implement tactical adjustments, the new mode provides a more accessible experience without compromising the tactical depth.
Siege X will enhance the look of classic Siege maps with new lighting, shadows, and up to 4K textures. The audio system has also been overhauled to provide clearer and more accurate audio cues. Additionally, the game's tactical core will be enhanced with new destructible objects, such as fire extinguishers, gas pipes, and metal detectors. This update will see R6 ShieldGuard unify all existing anti-cheat initiatives and introduce new technologies to protect the game. Siege X is free for all players who already own the game. It will also introduce Free Access, meaning anyone can play Quick Match, Unranked and Dual Front modes for free. Upgrading to premium access unlocks Ranked mode, Siege Cup and additional Operators.
Rainbow Six Siege X is available on 10 June 2025, on all platforms where Rainbow Six Siege is available (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S). However, the new Dual Front mode will only be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
X-cellent! Ubisoft is preparing the game for the next ten years.
