On December 15, Manuel Buß will take over as project manager of the GameUp! RLP games forum as the successor to Senad Palic. He will be the central point of contact for game developers, studios, and young talent in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Buß is founding member and most recently Chairman of gamesAHEAD e.V. and Managing Director of the indie studio KnotHorn, with preexisting knowledge in board games like Duelists, video games like Once Upon a Tile and e-sports with Amazon University Esports.

“The games industry combines creativity, technology, and culture. It is a driver of innovation, whether in industry, education, or healthcare. At the same time, we must not forget that games are also cultural assets that connect people and are simply fun. My goal is to promote this diversity and further expand Rhineland-Palatinate as a strong location for developers, studios, and talent,” emphasizes Manuel Buß.

“I am very much looking forward to next year's events. We are continuing with proven formats such as Gamescom and the Film & Games Rhineland-Palatinate industry get-together, but we are also actively involved in new formats such as the Serious Play Conference and GameDevWeek,” explains Manuel Buß.

Like the other creative forums in Rhineland-Palatinate, GameUp! is part of the RLP Innovation Agency. “The forums are a great asset for Rhineland-Palatinate because they can have a profound impact on the respective industries,” explains Sabine Mesletzky, managing director of the Innovation Agency. “Their anchoring within the Innovation Agency underscores our focus on cross-innovation and the creation of new connections between different industries and technology areas.”

The GameUp! Rhineland-Palatinate project, like the creative forums as a whole, is funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture, and Viticulture.
