Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has been granting wishes to children with critical illnesses. According to its own figures, more than 650,000 such wishes have already been granted, and these wishes are increasingly related to games. Make-A-Wish International has launched the Infinite Wishes Initiative, which brings together companies and executives from the gaming industry to help fulfill these life-changing wishes. The Games Industry Advisory Committee plays an important role in this, advising and supporting the organization in its mission. And with Markus Wilding, it now has another experienced member, as Make-A-Wish International has announced.
Wilding, who has held leading communications roles at Activision, 2K, and Rockstar Games, among others, and currently advises companies in the industry as the founder of Beyond the Wall Consulting, joins other experienced members of the committee such as Wouter Van Vugt (Bandai Namco Ent), Bart Verwijst (Bethesda), Desitenee Cleveland (Dames4Fames), Dennis DeBriun (2K), Ibrahim BHatti (Square Enix), Rana Rahman (Raptor PR), and René Otto (Deviant Legal).
“At this stage of my career, I feel a responsibility to give back in a meaningful way. I’ve followed the work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation for many years and have always been deeply impressed by the impact they create for children and families around the world. Becoming an ambassador is an honor, and I’m excited to contribute by leveraging my international network to help amplify their incredible work,” Wilding says.
And April Stallings, Charitable Gaming and Creators Community Manager at Make-A-Wish International, adds: “We’re thrilled to welcome Markus to the Infinite Wishes Advisory Committee. His experience across global markets and his passion for supporting the games community make him a fantastic addition as we continue to build momentum for the initiative. Leaders like Markus help us open new doors, inspire collaboration, and ultimately bring more wishes to life for children around the world.”
