The Swiss Marquard Group has sold its Hungarian lifestyle media portfolio, including the brands Joy, InStyle and ÉVA, as part of a 100% management buyout. This closes the final chapter of the Jürg Marquard era and marks a new beginning for the company. By acquiring the established companies 4Players, Computec and Golem, the Marquard Group is focusing its efforts on gaming and IT.

"The completion of the management buyout marks the end of a long transformation and the beginning of a focused growth phase, bringing together technology, editorial expertise, training and career services, and e-commerce for the gaming and IT community," said Bijan Khezri, Group CEO and majority shareholder of Marquard Group AG in Switzerland.

Through 4Players, the group specialises in gaming infrastructure, providing server hosting, voice chat, and multiplayer software solutions. Computec complements this with gaming magazines such as PC Games and PC Games Hardware, as well as its own gaming PCs and editorial deal content. Meanwhile, the IT news portal Golem is being developed into an integrated knowledge and career platform. Through its planned international expansion, Golem intends to further strengthen its position as an IT knowledge platform.
