Die mediantis AG/buecher.de hat den Konzernumsatz im Geschäftsjahr 2000 mehr als verdoppelt. Gleichzeitig stiegen die Verluste.

Der Online-Buchhändler mediantis AG, ehemals buecher.de, konnte im Geschäftsjahr 2000 seinen Konzernumsatz um 140 Prozent auf 38 Mio. Mark steigern. Gleichzeitig stiegen die Verluste des Unternehmens von 11,5 Mio. Mark im Vorjahr auf etwa 25 Mio. Mark. Damit verfehlte der Online-Händler das im März letzten Jahres ausgegebene Ziel von 45 Mio. Mark Umsatz. Für das Geschäftsjahr 2001 erwartet die mediantis AG eine Umsatzsteigerung um mindestens 50 Prozent, der Konzernverlust soll auf unter 25 Prozent des Umsatzes sinken. Dies soll durch Steigerung der Marketing- und Personaleffizienz erreicht werden.
