As the casual and merge-2 space evolves rapidly, Metacore is looking to reclaim the forerunner position in the category. To this end, the company is investing in technology and leadership to stimulate growth for Merge Mansion and future titles. In line with this strategy, Petri Hyökyranta has been appointed as CTO and Daniel Lindkvist as Head of Engineering.
"Technology is an enabler for successful mobile games. For us it's not just a delivery mechanism, but a strategic asset. That's why building common tools and scalable tech foundations will be one of my key focus areas. Joining Metacore has been a genuinely great experience. I'm looking forward to working with everyone, with a clear drive toward our shared goals," says Petri Hyökyranta. Thanks to his experience of building and scaling successful games for companies such as Rovio and Small Giant Games, Hyökyranta will be heading up the games technology department at Metacore.
"Petri's experience in building and scaling industry-leading games is exceptional. His arrival strengthens our ability to develop and operate high-performing titles. With the level of ambition we have as a company, Petri is exactly the tech leader who can help us get there," comments Metacore's CEO Mika Tammenkoski.
"I'm really excited to start helping the organization steer our tech, product, and ways of working as our business and games evolve. It’s clear that company culture is important here, and Metacoreans really live by their values," says Daniel Lindkvist. With over a decade of engineering and technology experience from King, Lindkvist joins the team.
"We want to ensure Merge Mansion's continued success and growth for the coming years, even decades. Daniel brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership experience, and an excellent culture-add to Metacore. I’m excited to see his impact on technical excellence, scalability and innovation in our fast-paced live service environment," says David Telenius, General Manager for Merge Mansion.
