Minit Games was founded by Mark Buchholz and Ole Schaper. Together, the two want to build an open platform for short-form games. At its core is the idea of making games visible and playable via a type of feed that young users have long been accustomed to on social media platforms. That is why Minit Games is focusing on building an infrastructure for ‘instant play’.
"Players live in algorithmic feeds, but games are still trapped in stores," says Ole Schaper, Co-Founder of Minit Games. "We’re building a destination where shortform games are as easy to discover and engage with as any other modern media format. We aren't just showing clips; we are delivering the full, interactive experience immediately."
Minit Games serves as an open layer for the next generation of game developers. Whether built via emerging AI tools or established HTML5-compatible engines, creators can publish directly to the feed in real time.
Hamburg-based Minit Games is currently preparing for an alpha launch. Access is by invitation only. Minit Games has secured sufficient financial backing, raising a total of two million US dollars in a pre-seed financing round. The investment was led by LVP and Sony Ventures. However, well-known figures from the gaming world such as Stefan Klemm, Timo Soininen, and Klaas Kersting are also involved in the round.
