Deutsche Telekom's 5G+ Gaming Offer Now Available Nationwide
At gamescom 2024, Deutsche Telekom launched 5G+ Gaming, the first 5G network slicing offering in Germany according to the company. Now the service is available nationwide. Cloud gaming partner Sora Stream has expanded its offering to 500 games.
A few weeks before gamescom, Deutsche Telekom announced that its 5G+ gaming service is now available nationwide in Germany. Customers with a current MagentaMobile tariff can sign up for the service free of charge.
According to Telekom, the service uses network slicing technology, among other things, to provide bandwidth for specific services. At the same time, L4S is in use, which stands for low latency, low loss and scalable throughput.
Deutsche Telekom presented and launched the offer at gamescom 2024 and equipped its network accordingly until it is now available nationwide.
To achieve the optimal gaming experience, mobile phones must also be compatible with 5G+ technology. According to Telekom, this applies in particular to the various iPhone 15 and 16 models and the S25 series from Samsung.
Parallel to the expansion of the 5G+ gaming offering, Telekom's cloud gaming partner, Sora Stream, has also continuously expanded its offering. At gamescm 2024, over 100 games were available via the service. Now there are already over 500 titles. To celebrate achieving nationwide coverage, a special promotion has been launched until October, offering Telekom customers a 50 percent discount on Sora Stream. Sora Stream is operated by Ludium Lab and ALSO.
