Die Gewinner in den erstmalig vergebenen Games-Kategorien des MTV Video Music Awards heißen Atari und Take 2.

Atari und Take 2 dürfen sich als erste Spielepublisher einen MTV Video Music Award in die Vitrine stellen. Bei der gestrigen Preisverleihung setzten sich die beiden Publisher in den erstmals vergebenen Kategorien "Best Video Game Soundtrack" und "Best Video Game Score" gegen die Konkurrenz durch.

Während in der Soundtrack-Kategorie niemand an Ataris "Marc Ecko's Getting Up - Contents Under Pressure" vorbeikam, siegte beim Score Take 2s "The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion".
