As announced yesterday, Korean mobile and online game publisher NCSoft has acquired a majority stake of 70 per cent in Berlin based mobile game and engine studio JustPlay, founded in 2020 by former AppLovin executives.

The board of NCSoft has agreed to invest $202 mil (about €174.15 mil) into becoming majority stakeholder of JustPlay, effectively taking over the company. The deal is supposed to go through by 30 April 2026.

JustPlay commented in a LinkedIn announcement: "We’re staying locked in on what we do best — building rewarding experiences for players and creating long-term value through our platform. What grows from here is our momentum, but just on a much bigger scale from now on.

NCSOFT and JustPlay share a vision for the future of casual gaming and platform innovation. Together, we’re excited to accelerate long-term growth, expand the ecosystem, and build even more momentum for what’s ahead."

Reportedly, NCSoft is planning to use JustPlay's mobile platform to expand globally, especially into the North American market, which makes up 70 per cent of JustPlay's key market.
