The still young indie publisher Digital Bandidos is thoroughly satisfied with its Indie Games Fest. Almost 50 games were featured in the showcase, which offered two world premieres, three release date announcements, and shadow drops for five playable demos. The organizers themselves presented three games and revamped their website.

The new showcase format, which aims to present indie games whose demos will be playable at the upcoming Steam Next Fest, is set to take place regularly in the future. The organizers had high hopes for the first edition. "Creating Indie Fan Fest as a way to shine the spotlight on upcoming games ahead of the crucial opportunity presented by Steam Next Fest," says Steve Escalante, CEO Digital Bandidos.

"It’s our first step as Digital Bandidos to help solve discovery for all titles, not just the games we are working on. And we have the privilege to bring incredible games like Froggy Hates Snow, Psychofinger, and Nullspace the resources and expertise they need to find the audience they deserve. All of these things are what drive Digital Bandidos on a daily basis, and we can’t wait to share more with you in future."

Digital Bandidos also used the showcase to present three new titles from its lineup for 2026. But those weren't the only highlights. Besides Froggy Hates Snow there was a second world premier with Gloom Punks (OneShark, Soft Source).

In addition, release dates were announced for three titles: Escape From Duckov (Team Soda, Bilibili;  October 16th), Let Them Come: Onslaught (Tuatara Games, Digital Bandidos; November 11th) and Voron (Merk Games; Early November). There were also 5 shadow drops of playable demos – Beneath (Camel 101, Wired Productions), Bladesong (Sun and Serpent Creations, Mythwright), Fish Stick Protocol (Maracas Studio), Origament: A Paper Adventure (Space Sauce, Beverlor) and Saveseeker (Paper Sword Games) - as well as the first gameplay reveal for Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown (Gamexcite, Daedalic Entertainment).

"We couldn't have done this without our friends and partners at The MIX. Their success with previous indie showcases has established them as seasoned curators and champions in this space, and we look forward to working with them as we grow Indie Fan Fest in the years to come," Escalante said.

And Justin Woodward, co-founder of The Mix, added: "We love working with the team at Digital Bandidos, as well as all the indie developers and publishers that took part in this show. Events like Indie Fan Fest are crucial to giving players a chance to see and wishlist some of the most incredible games that are being made."
