CipSoft Makes Tibia Payment System Available to Other Developers
Following an exceptionally successful financial year, CipSoft is launching a new business segment. Under the newly created brand MultiPayer, the company is making its in-house payment solution developed for Tibia available to other game developers. The new business line is being established by industry veteran Boris Schneider-Johne.
The idea of offering the long-standing Tibia payment system as a solution for third-party developers has been in the works for some time. After a test phase involving webstore implementations for Shadow Gambit (Mimimi Games) and Songs of Silence (Chimera Entertainment), MultiPayer is now officially going live. On its dedicated website, CipSoft outlines the system’s benefits in detail for interested studios.
However, this payment solution is not designed as a one-size-fits-all product aimed at mass adoption. Instead, MultiPayer relies on customized solutions to save money on payment processing fees and marketing due to its security solutions and technichal innovations. These features can not only reduce costs, but enable gameplay mechanics, that would be difficult to implement using standard third-party solutions.
"Tibia’s continued success is also due to our payment system. Features like player-to-player trading wouldn’t even be possible without it,” explains Stephan Vogler, Managing Director of CipSoft.
Boris Schneider-Johne, a former long-time Microsoft executive who joined the Regensburg based CipSoft, will establish the new business area. “With his many years of experience, including roles in business development and third-party management at Microsoft, Boris is the ideal person for this job,” Vogler adds.

Through this expansion, CipSoft is laying the groundwork for continued success. According to the company, 2024 was an outstanding year, generating a pre-tax profit of €12.3 million. As a result, the company’s 103 employees will each receive a bonus equivalent to nearly eight additional monthly salaries.
