Nexus Announces Band Line-Up for Its Combination of Convention and Festival
In mid-July, the new Nexus – Nerd Rock Festival will take place in Leipzig. As an evolution of the Nexo – Nerd Expo, the event combines a convention with a rock festival, and its line-up has now been revealed.
The festival will run from 11 to 13 July at the agra exhibition centre park in Leipzig, the same venue that hosts the Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT). Spanning 45,000 square metres, the festival grounds will feature multiple areas and the Titanium Stage, where 17 bands and three headliners will perform over three days. The stage, located in Hall 4.2, has a dedicated entrance, allowing visitors to attend the Nexus Nerd Rock Festival without purchasing a concert ticket. In addition to the music program, attendees can explore a medieval market and a nerd/gaming convention, covering a total area of 10,000 square metres.
The organisers anticipate more than 150 exhibitors, with up to 39 indie studios filling the Indie, Freeplay & Retro Area. There will also be an artist & merch area and a cosplay section. The indoor space will feature a total of four stages:
- The Titanium Stage, dedicated to concerts. - The Heroes Stage, hosting esports tournaments, panels with star guests, cosplay contests, and additional music acts. - Two panel stages, where workshops and discussions will cover topics such as music, cosplay, inclusion, and gaming.
The music line-up features around 60% female-fronted bands, including Beyond the Black, Future Palace, LaFee, From Fall to Spring, Samurai Pizza Cats, Self Deception, Damona, Lonely Spring, Kontrollverlust, Akuma Six, Venues, Tag der Helden, Petra & Julia Scheeser, Jan Hegenberg, Still Talk, IFA, Friends Don't Lie, Seven Blood, Invoke, Soulhikers, Primalavera, Horizis, and Baumann Bergmann Pokinnson. The festival will also host cosplay acts Lisginin, Silivren, and Nora Lemminger, as well as TikTok creator Paolo Phönix.
The Nexus Festival builds upon the Nexo – Nerd Expo, which debuted in 2022 as a regional convention without an accompanying concert. At the time, the event attracted around 2,000 visitors.
