Hooded Horse and Overhype Studios have joined forces with renowned partners to create a cinematic Menace trailer, which features the eponymous villain in action for the first time since the initial announcement. Syama Pedersen is the director, known for his work on the Warhammer 40,000 fan series "Astartes", and contributing to the "And They Shall Know No Fear" episode of Amazon's Secret Level anthology. Hoplite VFX, creators of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars fan video Star Wars 212, produced the trailer. The trailer shows Republic Marines and Pirates clashing in a derelict factory before the dead from both sides are absorbed and repurposed "by the insidious lifeform plaguing the Wayback system".

On 5 February 2026, publisher Hooded Horse and Battle Brothers creators Overhype Studios will launch Menace into Early Access for PC, with the game coming to Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store. The game will be available on day one via PC Game Pass (Game Preview). A demo is available on Steam.
