Nele Schmidt and Jascha Kruse Join LEZ.SH

The Landeszentrum für E-Sport und Digitalisierung Schleswig-Holstein (Schleswig-Holstein State Centre for E-Sports and Digitalisation) has strengthened its media education department. Nele Schmidt will be the new head of the children, youth and media education department, and Jascha Kruse will be the new youth specialist.
Nele Schmidt brings with her many years of experience in association work and education. Since 2023, she has been involved in the E-Sport-Verband Schleswig-Holstein e. V. (EV.SH), where she is a board member responsible for youth and education. After completing her Master of Education (teaching), she is now taking over as head of the Children, Youth and Media Education department at LEZ.SH. In her new role, Nele Schmidt aims to further develop the department and create new educational and preventive programmes. "It is important to me to support children and young people, as well as clubs and schools, in shaping digital leisure activities responsibly. Prevention, media education and practical guidance are my main focus," says Nele Schmidt.
Also new to Nele Schmidt's team is Jascha Kruse, who is joining LEZ.SH as youth specialist. He will be responsible for setting up an esports school league, thereby building a bridge between schools, esports and modern media education. ‘I am looking forward to working with schools in Schleswig-Holstein to develop a structured esports programme. The focus will be on team spirit, media literacy and responsible gaming,’ says Kruse.
