In Europe, EA Sports FC 26 celebrated its comeback at the top of the PlayStation Store charts in December. Gone are the days when soccer had to concede defeat to the FPS duelists Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. But that only applies to Europe, where ARC Raiders “only” landed in second place, even though it was developed by a Swedish team. And not just any team, but Embark Studios, which was founded in 2018 by former DICE employees. One of them is CEO Patrick Söderlund, formerly CEO of DICE and Chief Design Officer of EA before he left his post following what EA considered a disappointing launch of Battlefield 5.

In North America, ARC Raiders also made it to number one on the PlayStation Store charts. However, EA Sports FC 26 is far less dominant there, ranking only sixth. Its fiercest competitor in December was NBA 2K26.

There was less movement in the other PlayStation Store top lists, and there are also fewer differences between North America and Europe. A look at the free-to-play list shows that Call of Duty: Warzone remained ahead of Battlefield Redsec in December, but both were no match for classics of the marketing model such as Fortnite, Roblox, and Rocket League.

PlayStation Store Charts: Call of Duty Strikes Back
Unsurprisingly, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 reclaimed the top spot in the PlayStation Store charts from Electronic Arts’s Battlefield 6 upon its release in November. Interestingly, Redsec remains ahead of Warzone in the free-to-play titles category. And Anno 117 surprises!
