Die Veröffentlichung von "Pokémon Colosseum" hat zu erhöhter Nachfrage nach GameCube-Konsolen geführt. Nach Angaben von Nintendo of Europe hat sich der Marktanteil nach VÖ verdoppelt.

Durch die Veröffentlichung von "Pokémon Colosseum" hat Nintendo of Europe seinen Marktanteil bei den Heimkonsolen auf Wochenbasis verdoppelt. In der Woche nach VÖ des Spiels, am 14. Mai, ist demnach der europäische Marktanteil von GameCube von 16 auf 32 Prozent gestiegen. Nintendo bietet das Spiel als Stand-alone oder im Bundle mit einer GameCube-Konsole an. "Pokémon" ist aber nicht nur auf GameCube ein Erfolgsgarant für Nintendo. Wie der Konsolenhersteller mitteilt, wurden bisher mehr als 25 Mio. "Pokémon"-Spiele in Europa verkauft. Allein die beiden letzten GBA-Versionen, "Rubin" und "Saphir", wanderten rund 3,3 Mio. Mal über die Ladentheken.
