Twitch looks back on the past streaming year with the help of the community in a gamified recap. In addition to interesting B2C insights, there are also some new B2B data for Germany.

Twitch Recap is our year in review. It's a personal journey for every member of our community, whether they're streamers, moderators or viewers. It's about reflecting, celebrating and recognising everyone who makes our community what it is," said Rachel Delphin, Chief Marketing Officer at Twitch. In fact, the recap has been a Twitch tradition for years. And the company has come up with something special this time around. This year's recap is designed as a game, which is now online, and of course content creators can stream themselves playing the recap at the same time.

In terms of content, it is once again packed with all sorts of interesting figures and details. For example, 49.65 billion messages have been sent so far in 2023. In just two months, 104.7 million Twitch stories were watched and 2.189 million freeform tags were personalised. In terms of reach, Spanish broadcaster Ibai Llanos took first place in EMEA for the most hours watched, most clips watched and most viewers during a single stream. The top 5 in EMEA also includes three other Spanish channels, probably due to language overlap with South America, as well as German EliasN97. In the US and North America, QTCinderella had the highest peak viewership and Kai Cenat the highest total viewership.

In addition to this more B2C-related data, Twitch also announced some B2B-related developments. Around seven million streamers worldwide go live on Twitch every month. In Germany, the largest region in Europe, the company counted a total of 290,000 different streamers per month by the end of November 2023. They generated a cumulative revenue of 50 million euros. To put this into perspective, in 2022, Twitch streamers received a total of one billion US dollars. The most popular formats in Germany are chatting and games, especially "EA Sports FC 24", "League of Legends" and "GTA".
