Laut BIU haben im Januar ein Spiel den Platin-Status und zwei Titel Gold-Status der Sales Awards des Verbandes erreicht. Doch nur ein Spiel davon kam erst 2017 in den Handel: Capcoms "Resident Evil 7"

Zweimal Gold und einmal Platin - so lautet die Bilanz der BIU Sales Awards für Januar 2017. Laut dem Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware erreichte Ubisofts "Watch Dogs 2" in der PlayStation-4-Version die Marke von über 200.000 verkauften Units. Gold für jeweils über 100.000 verkaufte Einheiten gab es für Nintendos "Super Mario Maker für Nintendo 3DS" und für Capcoms "Resident Evil 7" für PlayStation 4. Der neueste Teil der Gruselreihe ist somit auch das erste 2017 erschienene Spiel, das einen Sales Award erhält.
