Cyberwave and rokaplay are set to release Solarpunk in June. This survival game, which is set in a technologically advanced world of floating islands, has been added to over a million wishlists on Steam. Mi'pu'mi Games is handling the console port.
During the Triple I Showcase, rokaplay revealed the release date for Solarpunk. After four years in development, the game is set to launch on 8 June 2026 for PC (Steam, GOG and Epic), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. However, there are no plans for an Early Access release. Rokaplay: "As many of you know, the release has been delayed more than once along the way. Game development is rarely a straight line, especially for a small team, and bringing Solarpunk to the finish line took more time than we originally hoped. But getting here now makes this moment even more meaningful."
The game by Cyberwave, a two-person studio, has more than 1 million wishlist entries on Steam. "They have contributed to major titles such as Hitman and Indiana Jones, and we are incredibly excited to have a studio with that level of experience helping bring Solarpunk to more players," said rokaplay.
Solarpunk is a relaxing survival game set in a technologically advanced world of floating islands. Players can build structures, grow food, craft equipment and explore distant islands in their own airship, either alone or with friends. They can use sunlight and wind to create an energy system and automate tasks such as gathering resources and watering plants, all while constructing a home in the sky.
Rokaplay is a German game developer and publisher specialising in cozy and family-friendly games. Its games are designed to appeal to players of all ages. Its portfolio includes titles such as Solarpunk, Lou's Lagoon, and Sugardew Island. The company, which is based in Darmstadt, also publishes smaller, unusual projects, such as A Game About Digging A Hole, which became a surprise hit in 2025.
