Publisher Sega hat für Herbst 2007 das Add-on "Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus" für PC, PlayStation 2 und Xbox 360 angekündigt.

Das Rollenspiel wird dabei nicht nur für PC und PS2 um neue Einzelspielermissionen erweitert, auch für das Onlinespiel wurden neue und verbesserte Spielfunktionen integriert. So gibt es neue Lobbybereiche, mehr Waffen und die Möglichkeit, das eigene Zimmer mit interaktiven Gegenständen auszustatten.

Die Erweiterung steht für Xbox-360-Nutzer als Download auf Xbox Live zur Verfügung. Die im Handel erhältlichen Versionen für PC und PS2 sind auch ohne das Hauptprogramm lauffähig.
