It is not unusual for the industry association game to continue to grow. As a post on social media reveals, April saw the addition of an internationally renowned company among its new members: Netflix.

The game association usually only comments on the development of its membership in exceptional cases with its own press releases, such as when it reached the 500-member mark in July 2024. Instead, new members are welcomed via social media at irregular intervals.

This was also the case in April. A total of six new members joined the association in April, including three indies: Leyline Creations (Munich), Sentiment Games (Berlin) and Spoondrift Games (Cologne). Brainlag Games from Essen, a start-up founded recently by former Piranha Bytes employees, has also joined game. The other two new additions are rather unusual, as they are not originally German companies. On the one hand, the UK Companion Group has joined game, as has the US streaming provider Netflix, which has increasingly made a name for itself in the games sector and to whose catalogue various German studios have also supplied mobile games.
