UK-based strategy and war game publisher Slitherine is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and announced its 2026 line-up at the two-hour Slitherine Next Live event. This is one of the strongest and most diverse portfolios in Slitherine's history.
The showcase began with the day-and-date release of RuneQuest: Warlords (developed by Virtuos), the first strategy video game ever to be set in Glorantha, the world created by Chaosium. Built on the engine behind Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, the game offers deeper melee combat. RuneQuest: Warlords features an 18-mission campaign, an in-depth combat system, three major factions (Talastar, Chaos and the Lunar Empire), a runes and magic system, skirmish mode and multiplayer mode (1v1).
Slitherine has announced Bolt Action, the first video game based on Warlord Games' tabletop miniatures wargame. Due to launch in 2026, Bolt Action aims to capture the experience of miniature wargaming and the physicality of moving miniatures on the tabletop. It offers players a dynamic campaign set during D-Day, historical operations and competitive multiplayer featuring both Allied and German forces. PC players will even be able to modify and customise their virtual soldiers with an Army Painter.
Marco Alessandro Minoli, Publishing Director at Slitherine, closed the event by expressing pride in the company's achievements: "We are incredibly proud of what we achieved in 2025, but with this line-up we are confident that 2026 will be an even greater year for the hundreds of thousands of strategy fans who follow us. Slitherine never stops—while we continue supporting our biggest successes with new, surprising content, we always have new titles simmering in the pot."
The publisher also announced the acquisition of the Radio Commander franchise, which Slitherine will officially distribute from today onwards. Alongside this, Slitherine revealed Radio Commander: Pacific '41, a new addition to the series which brings the radio-driven tactical experience to the Pacific Theatre of WWII. The company also confirmed that it is now the publisher of Nightmare Frontier, a tactical extraction looter game currently in Early Access and developed by Ice Code Games.
"We are incredibly proud of these acquisitions and partnerships," said Marco Alessandro Minoli. "Each of these titles embodies what strategy players love: depth, originality, and meaningful decision-making. Bringing them under the Slitherine banner is a testament to our commitment to becoming the ultimate home for strategy and wargaming fans on PC. Our mission has always been to champion this genre - and today's announcements show how determined we are to keep delivering experiences that resonate with the community."
Slitherine has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its major games and franchises by releasing new content, expansions and updates. "We are proud to show with these new DLCs how committed Slitherine is to keeping our most successful franchises alive and thriving," said Marco Alessandro Minoli. "They allow hundreds of thousands of players to continue enjoying their favorite titles, with new scenarios, narrative arcs, campaigns, and units, ensuring fresh challenges and experiences in the worlds they love."
