Lukrativ war das illegale Geschäft mit heimlich gebrannten CD-ROMs für einen arbeitslosen Fernfahrer - bis es aufflog. Der daraus entstandene Schaden für die Industrie liegt nach Angaben der BSA bei rund einer Million Euro.

Das Amtsgericht Bruchsal hat einen Softwarepiraten zu zwei Jahren auf Bewährung verurteilt. Zudem muss der Schuldige, Michael D., 100 Stunden gemeinnützige Arbeit leisten, gab der Interessenverband Business Software Alliance (BSA) bekannt. Das illegale Treiben des Raubkopierers war im September 2000 bei einer Hausdurchsuchung der Polizei aufgeflogen. Der damals arbeitslose Fernfahrer hatte bereits seit längerem eigenhändig Software illegal gebrannt und verkauft, darunter hauptsächlich Computerspiele, die er dann auf verschiedenen Webseiten anbot. Damit habe Michael D. einen Gewinn von 125.000 Euro gemacht. Der Schaden für Softwarehersteller hingegen beläuft sich laut BSA auf rund eine Million Euro.
