AEVI Honors DevContest Winners

The Spanish video game association AEVI has announced the winners of the second DevContest competition and announced a sequel, in which it hopes to receive even more support from universities.
The final of the DevContest organized by the Spanish video game association Asociación Española de Videojuegos (AEVI) took place last Friday at the OXO Video Game Museum in Madrid. It was the highlight of the competition, which the association had organized for the second time, inviting universities and schools across the country to recognize national talent in video game development. The student competition was held in three categories: Art, Programming, and Video Game Design.
A total of 13 students from seven universities—ESADA (Higher School of Art and Design of Andalusia), Puerta Bonita High School, University of Malaga, San Jorge University, Euneiz University, Complutense University of Madrid, and DigiPen Institute of Technology Europe Bilbao—competed in the final round and presented their projects to the expert jury. The winners were Lucas Serrano from Digipen Institute of Technology (Arts), Suyay Charles Alejandre from Digipen Institute of Technology (Programming), and Marcos Molero from IES Puerta Bonita (Video Games Design).
"With DevContest, we seek to support national talent and turn it into a showcase for tomorrow's best professionals," said José María, General Manager AEVI. Regarding future editions, the general manager of AEVI stated that "given the great interest it has generated, we will begin working on the next edition of DevContest , a new instalment that we hope will gain greater support from universities and schools with video game degrees to introduce more students."
