Following the divestment of Gearbox Software to Take-Two Interactive, Gearbox Publishing San Francisco will remain within the Embracer Group under a new name: Arc Games. The strategic direction will not change.

Gearbox Publishing San Francisco was not divested when Embracer Group sold Gearbox Software to Take-Two Interactive. The publishing division remains part of the Swedish group and has now been given a new corporate brand: Arc Games. Apart from the new name, there will be no other changes in strategic direction. "We're the same team of passionate gamers that brought you many beloved franchises including the Remnant series, Have a Nice Death, Star Trek Online and Neverwinter", according to the official announcement.

Gigantic: Rampage Edition and Hyper Light Breaker will be published by Arc Games. The new name can be traced back to Perfect World Entertainment's digital distribution platform and storefront Arc. The Embracer Group acquired Perfect World Entertainment in April 2022 and then integrated it into Gearbox Publishing.

The sale of Gearbox Software includes the studios Gearbox Software, Gearbox Montréal and Gearbox Studio Quebec, as well as the franchises Borderlands, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Homeworld, Risk of Rain, Brothers in Arms and Duke Nukem. Embracer's retained assets include Gearbox Publishing San Francisco, including publishing rights to the Remnant franchise, the upcoming Hyper Light Breaker and other notable unannounced game releases, and Cryptic Studios, including Neverwinter Online and Star Trek Online, as well as the studios Lost Boys Interactive and Captured Dimensions.
