Supercell's Brawl Stars has added its 101st playable character: Najia, a damage dealer who specialises in wearing down enemies from a distance. To celebrate this milestone, the Finnish company collaborated with Taika Waititi. The New Zealand film director, who is reportedly a long-time fan of the game, wrote the animated trailer for the release, infusing it with his signature humour. The two-and-a-half-minute animation has racked up over eight million views on YouTube in three days.
Taika Waititi said: 'Brawl Stars is a game we play at home, so I'm very familiar with its wacky, chaotic atmosphere. When I was asked to produce the new trailer for the release of the 101st Brawler, I was all for it. It was a real pleasure working with the Brawl Stars team and helping to flesh out the backstory of the game’s bizarre amusement park further. I hope players have a lot of fun with it!"
With over 1.4 billion downloads worldwide, Brawl Stars is one of the most popular mobile games in the world. This partnership with Taika Waititi follows collaborations with popular franchises such as Stranger Things, SpongeBob SquarePants and Toy Story.
