Sweden's Gaming Industry is Growing and Concerned About New Regulations
The Swedish industry association Dataspelsbranschen has presented its new annual report. With an increase in sales and growth in the number of companies, there is cause for celebration, were it not for concerns about the Digital Fairness Act and similar regulations affecting the EU industry.
Swedish Games Industry 2025: Game Developer Index by Dataspelsbranschen
The Swedish games industry is generally doing well. In 2024, the turnover of Swedish games companies rose by 6.4 percent compared to the previous year to SEK 36.8 billion. At the current exchange rate, this equates to around EUR 3.37 billion. Including their foreign subsidiaries, turnover was as high as SEK 73 billion, or around EUR 6.68 billion.
This is according to the new annual report Swedish Games Industry 2025: Game Developer Index, which has now been presented by the Swedish industry association Dataspelsbranschen.
