With almost 400,000 visitors, the Taipei Game Show is on a par with gamescom in terms of visitor numbers, or even exceeds it, making it a hot contender for the title of the world's most visited games fair. An exact visitor number was not given. In 2026, the Taipei Game Show took place from 29 January to 1 February, with trade visitors from all over the world attending on the first two days and the Asia Pacific Game Summit taking place at the same time.

Compared to gamescom, however, the business area and conference at the Taipei Game Show are significantly smaller. According to the organisers, the fair attracted 2,100 trade visitors from 43 countries, which is only a fraction of gamescom or GDC. At 26, the number of presentations is also well below that of GDC or devcom, which was renamed gamescom dev in 2026.

In terms of content, however, the Taipei Game Show offers consumers a wide range of games and shows featuring global majors such as Nintendo, Bandai Namco and Capcom, as well as Asian companies. According to the organisers, the Indie House area for indie games attracted particular attention this year, especially on social media.

Accompanying this, the Indie Awards were presented for the 12th time this year as part of the Taipei Game Show. PlayStation was the partner for the Indie Awards this year. There were a total of 515 submissions from 51 countries. In the end, there were winners in eight award categories, including one German company. Blue Backpack received the award in the Best Narrative category for The Berlin Apartment. Beeswax Games from Belgium was the second European studio to win an award, in the Best Innovation category for No Players Online.

Taipei Game Show 2027 is scheduled to take place from January 21 to 24 2027.
