MAG-C will take place in Erfurt at the beginning of February. The community convention for manga, anime, games and cosplay has significantly expanded its exhibition and event area.

The largest community convention for manga, anime, games and cosplay in Thuringia will open its doors at the Erfurt Exhibition Centre from 3 to 4 February 2024. More than 110 exhibitors will be presenting in two halls, including Peppermint Anime, Thalia and Planet Comics. Last year, over 11,000 visitors attended the event.

Nine themed areas can be found on the exhibition grounds. In addition to the Artist Area, the Cosplay Area and the Merch Area, numerous games will be presented in the Gaming Area, for example in the "BASF Indie World", where a dozen game developers will showcase their titles, or in the "Pockethost Freeplay Area", where visitors can prove their talent at "Minecraft". And following last year's success, the e-sports area will have more gaming stations and more floor space.

"The Retro Area will preserve the flair of the 1980s. All gaming machines are available free of charge and allow visitors to beat high scores at will. Influencer Dennsen86 and his team will be attempting to break records in the Speedrun Area, while visitors will have the opportunity to watch streamers live in the Streaming Area," write the organisers. The MAG-C project team led by Laura Schlenstedt and Theresa Witt has also come up with a specially developed trading card game. Creature cards for the decks can be collected at various stations around the exhibition centre.

"Last year, queues formed at times to get in and there were some great costumes that had to hold out in the cold. We recommend that all visitors purchase a ticket in advance," emphasises Theresa Witt, project assistant at MAG-C. Tickets are sold at www.mag-c.de/tickets.
