Zooseum is the second and largest DLC yet for Two Point Museum. Here, players can rescue, raise and rehabilitate a variety of animals, ranging from the unusual to the downright goofy, such as a spyglass giraffe and a cabin snail. They must nurse these animals back to health before releasing them into the wild. These animals can be found on the new expedition map, the Farflung Isles. This is where players can come across animals (and new wildlife exhibits) in need of help as they are suffering from Farflung Flu, a disease that can be cured at the museum. Releasing these animals increases the biodiversity of the Farflung Isles, as shown on the expedition setup screen, and earns Sanctuary Points. These points can be used to help the Zooseum adopt more animals in need of care.

The DLC features a new museum at Silverbottom Park. There is also a new five-star campaign to complete, as well as the new expedition map: Farflung Isles. There are over 40 wildlife exhibits, including animals from habitats and terrariums, as well as the new Wildlife Expert role, responsible for all things animal-related. The museum can be expanded to include two new rooms focused on animals: the Habitat Enclosure and the Wildlife Welfare room. Additionally, the DLC introduces three new interactive displays, new gift shop items, and new decorations.

Animal health is important too. If their needs are not met, this will gradually decline. Players design natural habitats and create exhibits inspired by different species. This involves providing the correct biome and food source, as well as ensuring the animals remain healthy. There are five biome variants, each with their own flora and fauna, as well as decorations for habitats and terrariums. These ecosystems require maintenance. Players can treat sick animals in the Wildlife Welfare area. Aside from being in the correct biome, animals in habitats have a foliage preference of open, sparse, or dense. This can be adjusted by adding or removing decorations.

However, the reason for linking a wildlife rescue theme to a museum, given that it does not quite fit in with the exhibits, remains unclear. Perhaps the DLC is a trial run for a potential Two Point Zoo, competing with Frontier's highly successful Planet Zoo.

Before the release of the expansion, "Free Taster Content" (Update 7.0) was published to give players a preview of what the DLC will include. This content will be released later on Switch 2. This content allows players to preview a selection of areas from the new expansion, including the museum location and the first star of the Zooseum campaign. Players will also have access to a new Wildlife Expert and wildlife-themed decorations, as well as a selection of Zooseum-themed plush toys, books, onesies and posters for the gift shop. It's an interesting strategy to give players a taste of the DLC.

The free Gingerbread Village Winter Seasonal update is now available for all players on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, launching alongside Zooseum. It brings a seasonal makeover to Two Point Museum, complete with festive exhibits, seasonal decorations and snow-dusted surprises. Gingerbread Village will also launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date. Sega: "The Gingerbread Village update invites players to dash through the snow to discover three Points of Interest across Winter Town, tucked away in the Bone Belt. Explorers can uncover five new exhibits, including a brand-new interactive display designed to bring festive cheer to guests of all ages."

Two Point Museum and Zooseum DLC were developed by Two Point Studios, a British game developer based in Farnham, Surrey, which was founded in 2016. The small team at Two Point Studios have worked on some of the most recognisable brands in gaming, including Fable and Black & White. Building on this experience, the studio released a new IP in the simulation genre called Two Point Hospital in August 2018, drawing inspiration from Theme Hospital. The studio went on to launch Two Point Campus in August 2022, which was not as popular as the previous game. In March 2025, Two Point Museum was released and was well received by players and critics alike. The game and the DLC is published by Sega Europe, the European distribution arm of the Tokyo-based Sega Corporation. Sega wholly owns the video game development studios Two Point Studios, Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive and Hardlight.

Two Point Museum: Zooseum, was released on 2 December for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at £9.99 / €10.99 / $10.99. A release for the Nintendo Switch 2 is planned for 2026.

Conclusion

Although the zoo theme may not seem to fit Two Point Museum at first, the Zooseum DLC is the most comprehensive and best expansion for the game yet.

Features
  • Largest expansion to date with new theme
  • New museum, new expedition map, new campaign
  • Cute and creative wildlife exhibits
