Unter der Bilanz des Onlinehändlers Barnes & Noble.com für das vierte Quartal 2001 stehen rote Zahlen.

Barnes & Noble.com hat im vierten Quartal 2001 trotz leichter Umsatzsteigerungen wieder Verluste gemacht. Der amerikanische Onlinehändler und Konkurrent von Amazon.com setzte im Weihnachtsquartal 115 Mio. Dollar um und damit nur eine Million Dollar mehr als 2000. Der Verlust sank um 31 Mio. Dollar auf 127,8 Mio. Dollar. Vom Geschäft im ersten Quartal dieses Jahres erwartet Barnes & Noble.com keine Wunder, sondern rechnet mit einem Umsatz von 105 bis 115 Mio. Dollar.
