Voraussichtlich im Herbst 2008 wird THQ Entertainment die Nintendo-DS-Version von "Viva Piñata" veröffentlichen.

Über den Umweg THQ Entertainment betritt Microsoft den Handheldmarkt. Wie THQ bestätigte, wird "Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise" voraussichlich im Herbst dieses Jahres für Nintendo DS in die Läden kommen.

Entwickelt wird der erste Handheldableger der "Viva Piñata"-Reihe von der 100-prozentigen Microsoft-Tochter Rare. Dass der Konzern nun eine seiner Top-Reihen auf der Plattform eines Mitbewerbers vermarktet, ist für Branchenbeobachter nur konsequent, denn Microsoft selbst ist mit keinem eigenen Gerät im Handheldmarkt vertreten. Zudem ergeben sich schon allein durch die hohe Verbreitung der NDS-Plattform gerade für familienfreundliche Themen hervorragende Chancen.
