Elden Ring Dominates the Weekly Steam Charts
Together with its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden Ring is the clear leader of this week's Steam charts, with only a shooter in Switzerland knocking it off the top spot. X4: Foundations from Egosoft just missed out on the top ten in Germany.
The weekly Steam Charts are unsurprisingly dominated by Elden Ring. The first and only expansion for FromSoftware and Bandai Namco's action role-playing game, Shadow of the Erdtree, is in second place worldwide, in Germany and Austria. The main game, on the other hand, occupies the top positions, but without significant price drops. Only in Switzerland did Counter-Strike 2 take the lead over the Elden Ring double. Elden Ring also remains very strong in terms of concurrent users (CCU) after the release of the expansion, with 781,261 on Saturday. The peak for Elden Ring was 953,426 in March 2022. However, user reviews for the expansion are weaker than for the main game, with most negative feedback coming from China. Criticism has focused on the difficulty, but also on technical issues such as performance problems and stuttering.
Among the newcomers, the social sandbox MMO Pax Dei (Early Access) ranked 5th in all GSA countries, but did not make it into the top ten worldwide. The co-op platformer Chained Together from Anegar Games, however, did make it, with a CCU peak of 85,638 yesterday.
X4: Foundations from Egosoft just missed out on the top ten. The game landed in 11th place in the German charts, ahead of the expansion pack X4: Timelines in 16th place. In Switzerland, X4: Foundations landed at number 15. Screw Drivers (Free-to-Play) from Creactstudios and Headup also had a solid start with 2,245 CCUs on Friday.
Black Myth: Wukong (Prepurchase) is fifth on the global charts, but not in the top 10 in the GSA. According to GameDiscoverCo, the game currently has a total of over four million wishlists, with 60-70 per cent of these coming from China.
Steam charts by revenue cover the period from 18 June to 25 June (10am).
