A Successful Transition Fuels Growth for GamesMarkt
One year after making the switch to English-only, we’re excited to celebrate a successful milestone for GamesMarkt. Our total user base continues to grow, the share of readers outside our core GSA (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) markets has nearly doubled, and our LinkedIn following has increased by 50%.
Exactly one year ago, GamesMarkt embraced a fully English-language format – a bold step that has paid off. “After an initial dip, which we anticipated, our growth has been strong, especially among users outside our core markets in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria,” says Editor-in-Chief Stephan Steininger. The share of international readers has nearly doubled to over 40%, compared to the previous 12 months. Even better, the number of unique users continues to rise overall, currently averaging more than 13,000 per month, a high single-digit percentage increase.
Our social media strategy is thriving as well. With a clear focus on LinkedIn, our follower count has surged by over 50% since transitioning to English, reinforcing our role as a key B2B platform for the global games industry.
"The numbers clearly show the strong international interest in the GSA Gaming markets. By removing language barriers, we’ve made it easier for the global games industry to engage with our content. The switch to gamesmarket.global as our main domain underscores our commitment to serving the industry with top-tier B2B insights from the GSA region and beyond. Of course, we will continue to be available at GamesMarkt.de as well," says Steininger.
