The German Indie Showcase will take place in June 2026. The date and exact time are yet to be announced. It is also not yet clear who will be the spokesperson for the showcase, which will be broadcast on creator Gronkh's channel and has a gross reach of over 10 million German-speaking users. In 2025, it was Twitch streamer H0llyLP.
However, studios from Germany, Switzerland and Austria can already start submitting their applications to participate in the stream. The stream is being organised pro bono by the artist management agency 1UP Management. Participation is free of charge for studios.
According to the organisers, however, feedback from the previous edition indicated that the effort required to apply for one of the spots was high. Studios had to have an exclusive trailer suitable for the showcase ready at the time of submission. The aim is to spare indie teams this effort and thus also the decision of whether to put the work into a trailer for the chance of a spot in the stream.
“Now applicants can present their games to the 1UP Management team without having to produce a finished trailer. The 1UP team will evaluate the games based on the assets already available and make a selection of which games would be suitable for the German Indie Showcase,” 1Up Management informs. The teams will then be contacted to discuss production and requirements.
Since its launch, over 150 indie games have been presented as part of the German Indie Showcase. The submission phase for the 2026 stream ends on 1 March. The conditions of participation in the FAQ section outline which titles can be submitted. The hurdles are low and mainly relate to the fact that games that have not yet been released, are not commissioned work and have not secured a publishing deal with a major publisher can be shown.
