Seven titles, among them five serious games, receive funding from Germany's federal state Hesse. Partly decided by Jan Klose of Artex and Franziska Lehnert of ZeniMax, the lucky winners are Pixelsplit, CosaLux, Omeelia, Eduard Dobermann, Buntspecht & Rabe, Sphery Exerworld and Raumkapsel Schmidt.

Hesse is funding seven games with altogether 300,000 euros in the current funding round of “Hessen serious Game”. The five serious games and two regular titles have been picked out of 19 submissions. As usual, the jury consists of university representatives, industry participants, the Hessen Agentur and the Hesse Economy Ministry. Among them are Jan Klose of newly revived Artex Software and Franziska Lehnert of ZeniMax Germany.

“From apps to gamification, from serious to cozy games, this year's award shows once again how diverse games made in Hessen are. I am delighted that we can actively support the next generation of games developers with this funding, because the games industry is a real asset for the Hessian economy”, says Kaweh Mansoori, Hesse Economy Minister.

The funded titles are:

  • Vita’Aer by CosaLux, Offenbach am Main: 50,000 euros
  • Through Your Eyes by Omeelia, Wiesbaden-Biebrich: 50,000 euros
  • Goldmünze Pixelsplit, Darmstadt: 50,000 euros
  • ExerG by Sphery Exerworld, Darmstadt: 50,000 euros
  • Swing by Swing by Eduard Dobermann - Turtle Knight Games, Weiterstadt: 47,400 euros
  • The Greatest Game: Die Elektrit Verschwörung by Buntspecht & Rabe Softwaremanufaktur, Hünfeld: 24,900 euros
