9 Kings, which sold 500,000 copies in the first six weeks of its Early Access launch on 23 May 2025, continues to sell well. The game, developed by Sad Socket and published by Hooded Horse and Sidekick Publishing (Instinct3), has sold over 800,000 copies to date. Sidekick7Instinct3 is assisting Hooded Horse, in the GAS region, which covers Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The roguelite autobattler has just received a new 'Quest Mode'. This mode features a world map with 81 battles (nine from each of the nine kings), each with a unique twist, such as restricted cards or facing the Rainbow Army every round. Each battle offers a fresh take on the core game loop and presents unique challenges inspired by the real possibilities of the game's core mechanics, including some that are more chaotic and demand strategic play.

Sad Socket, Hooded Horse and Sidekick Publishing: "You can expect a follow-up patch addressing your feedback very soon. Not to mention the new content that's already in the oven. Our next goals are an Endless Mode patch (that will address performance & gameplay issues during Endless mode) and our ultimate game mode that might change everything. Let's call it Ranked mode for now."

9 Kings is available on PC via Steam Early Access and the Microsoft Store for a base price of $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99 / ¥1,980. It's also available via PC Game Pass.
