Mit neuen Titeln von id Software, der Lizenzierung weiterer Marvel-Charaktere und dem Entwicklungsauftrag für Xbox und PS2-Games stockt Activision derzeit gehörig sein Portfolio auf.

Nicht überraschend kommt Activisions Ankündigung, einen Publishingdeal mit id Software über zwei weitere Titel vereinbart zu haben. Neben "Quake IV" spielt dabei auch ein bislang noch unbenanntes Game eine Rolle. "Quake IV" wird derzeit von "ST Voyager: Elite Force"-Macher Raven Software entwickelt, für das zweite Projekt zeichnet Nerve Software verantwortlich. Zur weiteren Aufstockung des Portfolios hat sich Activision zudem - über einen Lizenzdeal mit Marvel Enterprises - weitere Comiccharaktere für eine multimediale Umsetzung gesichert. Mit "First Family", "Iron Man" und "Fantastic Four" rundet Activision das derzeitige Marvel-Portfolio um "X-Men", "Blade" und "Spider-Man" ab. Grund für die Lizenznahme dürften auch die Ankündigungen von New Line Cinema und Twentieth Century Fox sein, Kinofilme zu drehen, die auf den Marvel-Comics "Iron Man" bzw. "Fantastic Four" basieren. Last but not least hat sich Activision Entwickler Black Ops Entertainment an Bord geholt, der für den US-Publisher mit "Street Hoops" ein Basketballgame für die PS2 und die Xbox entwerfen und umsetzen soll.
