Three more games projects received funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. Nurogames gets almost one million euros for a VR project. Both King Art and Actrio Studio are happy about almost 200,000 euros each.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection is funding three more games projects. Nurogames from Cologne is receiving almost one million euros, or 990,065 euros to be precise. The virtual reality project "Lost on Mars VR" is being supported. Founded in 2006, the company aims to develop games that are fun, inspiring and contribute to education and improving the world. Nurogames had already obtained federal funding for the projects "Heimweh" (182,214 euros) and "Rune Bender VR" (498,560 euros).

King Art Games from Bremen also secured federal funding, namely 188,351 euros for "Wattwanderung 2". The project "Wattwanderung" (working title, which means "mudflat hike") is a role-playing game for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The description reads: "With a group of characters you travel a fantastic world with the help of an airship and try to undo a great catastrophe. The game focuses on the exploration of the hand-crafted game world and the epic story surrounding the group of unlikely heroes." As King Art Games has not yet published the project "Wattwanderung", it can be assumed that the funding will be used to finalise the prequel.

Actrio Studio receives 173,102 euros for "Day of the Dead Adventure". This is the fourth grant for the studio after "The Great Ocean 2022" (167,844 euros), "Submarine Racer" (96,751 euros) and "The Great Ocean (Debris) - Plastic Mission" (59,412 euros). Actrio Studio is a games and film producer based in Leipzig, Babelsberg near Berlin and Cologne. The company was founded by Michael Geidel, who has been working as a film and interactive producer since 1999.

These now confirmed grants were received by the Ministry before the application freeze on federal funding. New applications cannot currently be submitted. We have collected all federal funding from 2023 in a continuously updated list.
