New World: Aeternum is no longer listed or available in stores. However, players will still be able to play the game, and the Nighthaven season has been extended until the servers are taken offline on 31 January 2027. In-game currency will no longer be available to purchase after 20 July 2026.

In response, Alistair McFarlane (Director and COO at Facepunch Studios, known for Garry's Mod and Rust) contacted Amazon Games directly on X and offered 25 million for the game. Dexerto quotes him as saying: "25m, final offer. Games should never die." It remains to be seen whether Amazon Games will accept this public offer and how serious it is.

Back in December, Ubisoft acquired March of Giants and its development team from Amazon.
